This Privacy Policy explains how Navigator Truck Insurance (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, and shares information through the Navigator Truck Insurance mobile app (the “Service”).

1. Information We Collect

You provide directly:

• Name and email address
• Phone number
• Location (address or geographic location)
• Social Security number (SSN)
• Employer Identification Number (EIN), if applicable
• DOT number
• Vehicle information (e.g., make, model, year, VIN)
• Driver names and dates of birth (if you submit information on behalf of drivers other than yourself)

Collected automatically:

• Device information (device type, operating system)
• App usage data
• Approximate location, if you grant location permission

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Generate and route insurance quote requests to our network of third-party Insurance Partners
• Verify your phone number via SMS 
• Operate, maintain, and improve the Service
• Communicate with you about your requests
• Comply with legal obligations

3. How We Share Your Information

Insurance Partners. We share the information you submit — including your contact information, SSN, EIN, and vehicle information — with third-party licensed insurance companies, agents, and brokers so they can contact you by phone or email with quotes. This is the core function of the Service. Insurance Partners do not receive your mobile number for text messaging purposes — see Section 5. 

Service providers. We share limited information with vendors who help us run the Service, including Twilio (SMS delivery) and our hosting/analytics providers.

Legal. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

We do not sell your information for unrelated advertising purposes. Sharing your information with Insurance Partners in exchange for compensation may still count as a “sale” or “sharing” under some state privacy laws — see Section 7.

4. How We Protect Sensitive Information

Your SSN, EIN, and driver dates of birth are sensitive. We limit access to this information to what’s needed to process your quote request, store it using encryption, and retain it only as long as necessary for that purpose (see Section 6). No storage method is 100% secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security.

5. Mobile Information and Text Messaging

What we collect. When you sign in, we collect the mobile phone number you provide, the date and time of each verification request, and the delivery status of each message.

Why we collect it. To verify you control the number, to authenticate you on return visits, and to protect your account against unauthorized access.

Service providers. We use Twilio Inc. to deliver text messages on our behalf. Twilio processes your mobile number solely to deliver these messages and is not permitted to use it for its own purposes.

No sale or sharing of mobile opt-in data. Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All of the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

This section covers only the phone verification program described above. It does not affect the separate sharing of your contact information with Insurance Partners described in Section 3 — that sharing happens by phone and email, never by text.

Retention. We retain your mobile number for as long as your account is active, and afterward only as long as required for legal, regulatory, or insurance recordkeeping obligations.

Your choices. Reply STOP to any message to opt out. You may also request deletion of your account and associated data from within the app, or by contacting clientservice@navigatortruckinsurance.com.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations. You can request deletion at any time.

7. Your Privacy Rights

All users can request to:

• Access the information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your information

We won’t discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We’ll post the updated version here with a new “Last updated” date.
